THE HIT VIDEO GAME IS NOW A CAN’T-MISS COMIC!
Bruce Wayne, Diana Prince, and Clark Kent each wake in a cold sweat, troubled by strange dreams they’ve had about the rabbit, the star child, and the witch. Their investigation into these enigmatic visions brings them to unexpected locales and unusual characters, but none more unusual than the mysterious rabbit from their dreams as they find themselves face-to-face with the one and only Bugs Bunny. What the heck is going on here? And who in the name of the Multiverse are the star child and the witch?
The hit video game spills from your screen and into the DCU, and it’s bringing a whole lot of friends from some of your favorite universes with it!
DC Comics brings the hit video game Multiversus to life with Collision Detected #1, where Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman find themselves plagued by bizarre dreams. Visions of a rabbit, a star child, and a witch lead them on a strange journey, one that eventually brings them face-to-face with none other than Bugs Bunny himself. Yeah, you read that right—Bugs Bunny in the DC Universe!
If you were hoping for a full-on crossover extravaganza from the start, you might need a bit more patience. This issue is primarily about setting things up, focusing mostly on the Trinity—Bruce, Diana, and Clark—as they investigate the cryptic symbols and strange occurrences. The story is light-hearted but engaging, with just enough humor to keep things entertaining, especially if you’re a fan of Bryan Q. Miller’s witty dialogue. His banter shines, making the interactions between the characters a real highlight.
The art by Jon Sommariva has a more cartoony feel, which at first threw me off, but considering that Bugs Bunny and other animated characters are joining the party, it feels like a natural fit. The issue teases plenty of fun crossovers to come, from Superman and Batman to Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, and more.
While this issue is mainly about setting up the larger story, it’s still a fun read with some amusing moments. If you’re into seeing your favorite DC heroes team up with classic cartoon characters, “Multiversus: Collision Detected #1” sets the stage for what could be an enjoyable ride.
“Multiversus: Collision Detected #1” is available on our new comic book wall and can be placed on your weekly pull list.
