SUPERSTARS JASON AARON AND RAFA SANDOVAL UNLEASH A SHOCKING NEW TAKE ON THE LAST SON OF KRYPTON! Without the fortress… without the family… without a home… what’s left is the Absolute Man of Steel!
Wow, I didn’t expect Absolute Superman #1 to pack such a punch right out of the gate. Jason Aaron and Rafa Sandoval team up to present a version of Superman that feels both intensely familiar and daringly fresh. Superman is stripped down—no Fortress, no family, no home. We’re left with a pure essence of the character, the Absolute Man of Steel, and it’s as intense as it sounds.
Right from the start, it’s clear they’ve nailed that classic Superman spirit but in a way that feels unexpectedly different. Aaron has managed to blend the traditional core of Superman with an innovative twist that somehow still feels totally “Superman.” And even though this storyline has its own unique vibe, it really respects what came before.
I have one small gripe: it’s so good that I just wish it were longer, like with Wonder Woman’s recent issues. Aaron’s writing leaves you wanting more, especially with the questions that build as you read. It’s exciting to see Superman’s legacy reimagined in a way that brings up new mysteries and challenges, and honestly, it’s got me hooked.
Absolute Superman #1 is available on our new comic book wall and can be placed on your weekly pull list.
