West Orange Comics and Video Games in Ocoee is hosting the Magic: The Gathering Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles prerelease on Friday, February 27th and Monday, March 2nd, 2026 at 7:00 PM. This is your chance to play with the new set before it officially drops.
Each player gets a prerelease kit with 6 play booster packs, a promo card, and a spindown D20. You’ll build a 40 card deck using the cards you open plus basic lands available in the store. Prerelease events are sealed format, which means everyone opens packs and builds from what they pull. Nobody’s bringing tuned decks. You’re all figuring out the new cards together.
The TMNT crossover brings two fan bases together. Magic players who grew up with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles get to see their favorite characters as Magic cards. The set ties into TMNT while still playing like actual Magic.
Prereleases are relaxed events. The atmosphere is casual, judges are lenient with rules mistakes, and everyone’s learning the new cards at the same time. You’re not competing against decks that have been tested for weeks. You crack packs and make the best deck you can from what you get.
Friday, February 27th at 7:00 PM is the first event. Monday, March 2nd at 7:00 PM is the second. Some people play both because sealed format means different packs and different decks each time.
